Comments about the web site: Through my great grandmother(a Dougherty) I am related to John Dougherty. I've only discovered this three years ago(through a family reunion in McVille, PA). I know that someone was looking to find any relatives of John Dougherty. To the person with this email address: oenghus@ix.netcom.com, if I am not mistaken, I would be his gr-gr-gr-granddaughter. At the moment I am about 2000 miles from my actual home, but when I get home I will try to e-mail you as much information as I have on any descendents of John Dougherty... I think that his middle initial is "M", but I will have to check when I get home. As for this site, my hat goes off to you Michael Dougherty. This is a wonderful site. I especially enjoy the fact that you have the family crest and coat of arms. I recognized the coat of arms because of the reunion(it was plastered all over), but I never knew what Ar nDutcas meant until I found this site. "For my heritage"... very simple, but very strong words. I have always been into finding out where I came from and I never even knew that I was from and Irish ancestry until about 3 years ago, yet I have always felt a very strong connection to anything that is considered Irish. My grandfather, Charles Dougherty was born in Ballybofey and my grandmother, Bridget McBrearty was born in Killybegs. My father, Edmund Dougherty was extremely proud of his Irish heritage. Hey - I work at Raytheon, too! I'm at the Goleta, Calif. location, Electonic Warfare Systems. We are Legacy Raytheon - I've been there since 1968. Lots of changes! My Dougherty family settled in Woodside, Ohio. I am a descendent of Stephen Oliver Dougherty (great grandfather) and David Dougherty. I am the daughter of Stephen Oliver Dougherty of Toronto, Ohio. Comments about the web site: Dear Sir, I came across your webb page while looking for an old friend of mine John Fitzpatrick whom I met some 24 years ago in London. I was a student then working in one of the London pubs throughout the summer of 1980. At that time I lived in communist Poland and it was difficult to keep in touch with friends abroad... Moreover, I lost my diary with all my addresses, among others with John's address. I know that he was born in 1957 somewhere in Ireland but am not sure if it wasn't Northern Ireland (though this is less likely). The only thing about his family I remember is that his father used to run a pub in the City, London, somewhere near Tottenham Court Road, Oxford street or Regent Street.His father divorced his mother who stayed in Ireland with John's brothers and sisters. I am aware that it is almost next to impossible for you to have anything to do with John Fitzpatrick I once knew, it is just the coincidence that I found your web page..but I felt I had to give it a try and somehow continue my search even in this strange way. I do apologize if I have wasted your time but do hope that you will understand that the person I am looking for who meant a lot to me once still lives somewhere in the deep nook of my heart. I would appreciate it if you could let me know if there is a John Fitztpatric known to you. I feel really uneasy asking for such a thing but have no other means of finding out if he even is alive...
