Comments about the web site: I am just starting out on my family tree research. I am finding out that daugherty is hard to follow because of the spellings. Any guidance would be great and possibly connecting to any possible kin would be great. My Grandfather was a Roscoe Daugherty that passed away in the early 70's and laid to rest in Lamoure ND. I also know that he was raised in Oklahoma. Like I said, I am just starting, but would like to know where would be the next best place to go. Thank you for any support you may give.

Some of their children are: Granville (1855), Jarvis (1859), Lucius (1857), Cora (1858), Acalda/Caldia (1867), Daniel (1869), Effie (1871), Edgar (1873), Katy (1877), Horace/Harry (1880), Rachel (?), Etta (?), Ella (?). Comments about the web site: I'm trying to find some info linking me to Ireland, for personal reasons. Let's start here. The furthest back I can get without getting confused is that my great great grandparents are Peter B. & James William Lillie Smith Daugherty. And that we're from the Daniel Daugherty Lineage. That's about it. And that's where I enlist the help of all you out there. I'm 20, and am trying desperately to discover my family on my gram's (Lillian Pearl Daughtery, one of Martha's two daughters) side. My great gram was Martha Ann Daughtery, born in 1890, and Martha's mom was J.W. Lillie, which then switches over to her husband being my great great grandpa Peter B. Daugherty, his mother was Sarah Ann Daughtery, and her mother was Sarah Jane Evans, who was married to Andrew Daugherty. THAT'S where I get lost, and have nothing else written or otherwise on them. Can anyone offer any info??? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all for any time given my direction, and this website is great!! Angie

Comments about the web site: Great website. Interesting links. My wife and I visited the Clan Headquarters in Buncranna in 1999. Hope to return someday. I have not been able to trace my Doherty line back to a specific location in Ireland, but still searching. My Great Grandfather James W. Doherty was born 4/15/1839 in Toronto, Canada. His son John W. Doherty was born in Cascade Wisconsin 1873, and died in San Francisco California 1935. His third son, my father, John W. Doherty was born in San Francisco 12/17/1905, died 12/7/1992.

Comments about the web site: A very good website except that in your Clan Ò Dochartaigh link you write: 'The area includes Inch Island ... and extends to Londonderry ("Derry") in Northern Island.' You make it sound as if Derry were some kind of nickname but it is in fact the historical name and dates back to when St Columb founded his monastery at Doire 1400 years ago. Londonderry is a new name, dating back only to the time of the Plantations (early 17th century) to commemorate the master-builders sent from the City of London to rebuild medieval Derry.

Comments about the web site: Make those Patriot missles work good. Israel may need them soon along with their arrow system or whatever else they have. Enjoyed your site. I'm going to have my oldest son check it out. He loves things about his Irish heritage. My grandma was a Sweeney. Both her mother and father were 1st generation Sweeney's from Ireland (hopefully not too closely related!) Any info on the Sweeney's. I believe they came from the southeastern part of Ireland.
