Comments about the web site: Interesting Site. Are you part of the Clann Association? I have belonged since 1986 and have done my family history on the "Paddy Mores" of Malin Head area. I am now working on my Pennsylvania Dougherty side. My Great-grandfather was a Thomas P. Dougherty, born in England circa 1858. Have not found out when he came here but he was a rock contractor in the coal fields of Scranton-Wilkes Barre, Pa. I will have to check back often.

Comments about the web site: WOW! You have done alot of research. I am just beginning my work. I first got the US censes records to find out exactly when my family got here. I am only 3rd generation American Irish on this side of the family. I came to your site because the spelling "Dougherty" was the same. I'm not sure if they spelled it that way before comming or not. I know they were from Donegal. The got married and ran off to America the story goes. He was suppose to be taking some horses to town to be sold. Don't know what ship they came on but I do know they got here in 1888. They settled in Summit Hill, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Coal country. It's interesting that your people settled in Lancaster, PA because these places aren't very far from each other now a days. Could we be related? He was James Dougherty and she was Bridget O'Donnell Dougherty. Yes I know, too very common given and surnames. I have bookmarked your site and sent the link to my mom as well. It's done very well and very informative. Thank you for such a wonderfull site. MJ
